IDAX-300, the new generation of the successful IDA 200 and IDAX-206 product line provides accurate and reliable power transformer condition assessment using true FDS (Frequency Domain Spectroscopy). The IDAX-300 system maximizes the outcome of maintenance activities allowing for load and service life optimization.
IDAX-300 utilizes dielectric spectroscopy, a method that has been used for decades in laboratories. This well proven technology is now available for field use. IDAX-300 measures capacitances and losses in the insulation between windings at multiple test points in a frequency sweep, making it possible to assess the moisture in the solid insulation as well as differentiate between other potential problems.

With the new IDAX-300, measuring times has been decreased drastically. Now it is possible to assess the moisture content in a transformer in a quarter of an hour, using optimized test settings in the new software.

The first IDAX-300 was presented at the workshop for "Variable Frequency Diagnostics" in Stockholm. The size compared to the previous model, IDAX-206, is three times smaller and it fits into the same sized case as FRAX, making it possible to travel with the IDAX as hand luggage. Weight is also reduced three times, appreciated by all engineers out in the field.
